We are working with communities and industry groups in a whole-of-community approach to controlling fire ants. In 2021, our fire ant treatment projects include:
educational facilities
sport and recreational fields
primary producers inside our eradication treatment area
waste management facilities
communities in Calamvale
communities in some parts of the Gold Coast.
communities on Tamborine Mountain
You may have been invited or encouraged to take part in one of the above projects. If you are unsure if you are part of a project, or would like to find out if you can join a project, please call 13 25 23 and ask to speak to the ‘self-management team’ or email fireants@daf.qld.gov.au.
